Accelerating the completion of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) in 2025 is one of the priority proposals discussed at the North Jakarta City Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang).
It needs joint support to smoothen the project
Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono said the coastal area of North Jakarta continues to be haunted by the potential for tidal flooding. For this reason, there must be the construction of a giant sea wall as has been designed since 1993.
Visiting Kalibaru NCICD Embankment, Heru Greeted by Enthusiastic Residents"It becomes central and regional governments' commitment to accelerate sea wall construction even though the cost is big enough. It needs joint support to smoothen the project," he said as opening Musrenbang at Bahari Room, North Jakarta Mayor Office, Thursday (3/21).
Heru added that in realizing Jakarta as a Global City, the North Jakarta region must be able to develop historical areas. Jakarta's history also begins on the north coast, so this must be appreciated and paid attention to.
North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim, explained today's Musrenbang is part of programs starting from Urban Village Pre Musrenbang on week I up to week III of January 2024 which resulted 1,893 proposals. Those proposals then discussed at Sub-district level until resulted 1,188 proposals.
"Of that number, 50 proposals to be executd this year, 919 proposals to be executed in 2025, and two proposals to be executed in 2026. The rests can not be executed," he explained.
Ali added that there are four priority development proposals, namely construction of a coastal safety embankment (NCICD), construction of the Cakung Lama River sheet pile, road improvements along the Marunda access road, expansion of the Sub-district Health Center.
"Hopefully this can be accommodated and run smoothly. This development is for the benefit of North Jakarta residents, of course the results are to be felt together," he added.
Meanwhile, Jakarta City Council Legislator, Agustina Hermanto (Tina Toon), supported the realization of priority proposals for the sake of community needs.
"I support the priority development proposals especially NCICD," she stated.
She also appreciated the quick response to flood management efforts carried out by the North Jakarta Mayor and his staff and hoped that preventive efforts could continue to be optimized.
